Kitchen to customer
We read the cover around the way you serve.
A kitchen fire can damage equipment and stop trading. Alcohol service raises separate liability questions. We review the property, interruption, and liability proposals together, explaining which events trigger cover and what remains excluded.

Describe the service
Your cooking methods, alcohol sales, catering work, and delivery arrangements shape the account we present.
Examine a shutdown
We check the covered causes of loss, waiting periods, and restoration terms behind the business interruption proposal.
Resolve the outstanding terms
We follow up on missing wording and explain any requirement the available options leave unresolved.
Restaurants, breweries & bars
Your menu and service shape the insurance account.
We describe food preparation, production, and alcohol service accurately so the market can assess the business you run.

Restaurants
We arrange restaurant insurance around how you cook and serve, the property you rely on, and the requirements in your lease.

How Hayes works
We handle the submission and explain the decision.
You get a comparison of available insurance terms and our recommendation, with the reasons behind it.
We build the account
We establish your food and drink operations, review current cover, and update the equipment values and trading information for the submission.
We seek insurance options
We take the submission to market and manage follow-up questions about the kitchen, taproom, or bar.
We compare the policy terms
We show how the quotes differ, explain the exclusions that affect your operation, and recommend how to proceed.
Policy wording
We read every endorsement in the comparison.
An endorsement can restrict an activity or change who is insured. We read those changes against your operation and explain their effect before you choose a quote.
Hayes Street
Changing the space can change the insurance.
Turning storage into dining space changes how your San Francisco restaurant uses the premises. We check the revised equipment and improvements against the policy and review the lease insurance requirements. Let us know before the change so we can seek terms that reflect the new use of the space.
Food & drink insurance answers
Understand the terms in your restaurant policy.
Does a certificate meet an additional-insured requirement?
A certificate alone does not add the landlord or another party to a policy. We compare the parties named in the lease with the additional-insured endorsement and pursue the wording needed to address the requirement.
Which parts of a rented restaurant belong on a property schedule?
We schedule the equipment, stock, and improvements you own or are required to insure, distinguishing them from landlord property. Rented equipment also needs an identified value and responsibility. We check the policy definitions and valuation terms against that schedule.
Does business interruption cover any forced closure?
No. Business income coverage has a defined trigger and conditions, often involving physical loss or damage from a covered cause. Waiting periods, restoration provisions and exclusions can change the result. A closure by itself does not establish a covered loss.
