Commercial coverage

Commercial insurance for the premises you operate.

We shop liability, property, and business income insurance for restaurants and drink businesses, then read the proposals against the lease and your actual service.

Commercial General Liability

Liability insurance for the service you provide.

We include dining, takeout, catering, and off-site service in the account where they apply. A fall in the dining room and an allegation about food served can involve different provisions, so we check premises and products coverage together.

Terms we examine

  • Landlord additional-insured wording and the parties named in the lease
  • Products-completed operations provisions for food served
  • Alcohol, assault-and-battery and other activity exclusions

Where the wording matters

A certificate summarizes evidence of insurance. It does not add an insured or amend the policy. An endorsement must provide any required change.

Commercial Property

Property insurance for your kitchen and buildout.

We help build a property schedule that identifies owned and rented equipment and the improvements you are responsible for. We then compare valuation and damage terms so the property quote can be assessed against the kitchen you would need to restore.

Terms we examine

  • Tenant improvements and responsibility at the end of the lease
  • Equipment, stock and business personal property values
  • Covered causes of loss, deductibles and valuation provisions

Where the wording matters

Equipment breakdown, spoilage, flood and earthquake need their own wording review. Do not assume a property policy covers a refrigeration failure or every cause of damage.

Business Interruption

Business income cover while the premises are restored.

Business income insurance may respond when a covered event interrupts operations. We use your business records to assess the exposure and compare how proposals calculate the loss. We also examine extra expense provisions for costs incurred to reduce a suspension.

Terms we examine

  • Required physical loss or damage and other coverage triggers
  • Waiting periods, restoration periods and applicable limits
  • Utility interruption, supplier disruption and dependent-property wording

Where the wording matters

A loss of trade or a closure is not automatically a covered income loss. The cause, location and policy conditions determine whether coverage can respond.

We identify insurance needs beyond the premises.

Alcohol service, employees, and deliveries may require additional policies or endorsements. We identify those activities while preparing the account and explain where the listed coverage leaves work to do.
